Obituary for Richard DeZago

Richard DeZago
Richard Anthony DeZago "Ziggy", 76 of Lakeville, PA died December 28, 2023. He was born in Sparkill, NY on September 12, 1947 to Anthony and Rose DeZago. Richie was a graduate of Tappan Zee High School class of 1966, after which he joined the army and served a tour in Vietnam as SPC5. He then worked as a police officer in the Village of Spring Valley, NY for 20 years. He was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed going on ocean cruises.


Richie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Karen (Reutershan) DeZago of Lakeville, PA and son James DeZago of New Windsor, NY. Also by brother & sister – in – law Geoffrey and Bonnie DeZago of Valley Cottage, NY and sister Sandra Jarvis of Bronson, FL. He was predeceased earlier this year by his older brother Anthony Patrick DeZago of Henderson, NV.


Memorial service will be held at Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 South Broadway, Nyack, NY from 4pm – 8pm on Tuesday January 2, 2024. Burial will be at Rockland Cemetery, 201 Kings Highway, Sparkill, NY on Wednesday January 3, 2024 at 11am.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital
