Obituary for Victoria "Vicky" Affrunti

Victoria "Vicky" Affrunti
Victoria “Vicky” Affrunti passed away peacefully at home on Sunday October 13, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Vicky was born on July 31, 1953, in New York, New York to Philip and Ida Terenzio (Riozzi). She is survived by the love of her life Philip Affrunti, who she celebrated her 45th wedding anniversary with on September 28. They have two beloved children; Megan and her husband David and Tori and her husband Kyle. She is also survived by her brother Philip Terenzio and sister Patrica Bianchi and their families.

Vicky retired in 2015 after a 26 year career with the Rockland Country Medical Examiner’s Office where she held a position as Confidential Secretary to the Medical Examiner. She spent her years in retirement doing all of the things she enjoyed with her husband and loved ones. One of her favorite things was bringing her family together for celebrations and above all, she loved preparing the most delicious Christmas Eve meals that everyone who partook in looked forward to all year.

Vicky fought Colon Cancer for six and a half years and her strength and positive outlook during this challenging time were an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Despite her illness and because of her determination she was fortunate enough to help plan and participate in her daughters’ weddings and the baby shower for her grandson to be, all things that were so meaningful to her.

She will be missed dearly. She was loved by so many and continued to fight her illness because of the love and support she received from her friends and family.

On Wednesday October 16th a Visitation will be at the Hannemann’s Funeral Home, 88 S Broadway, Nyack, NY from 4PM to 9PM.

On Thursday at 10am a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 82 Lake Road West, Congers, NY.

Interment will follow at Rockland County Veterans Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Road, Spring Valley NY.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Vicky’s name to Hospice of Rockland County. This organization brought hope and healing to her and her family during the final weeks of her life.
