Obituary for Debbie Levesque

Debbie Levesque
Debbie Levesque (1955-2020) of Nyack, NY passed away on March 30, 2020 from natural causes at Good Samaritan Hospital. Debbie is survived by her mother Helen Germain of Leesburg, FL; sisters Pam Germain of Middletown, CT and Donna Mason of Leesburg, FL; husband of 47 years Kier Levesque; son Nicholas (Lauren); daughter Taylor Wexler (Joe); and grandchildren: Hailey, Hudson, and Josephine.
Born in Rayville, LA, she spent most of her life in Nyack. Debbie graduated from New Dorp High School on Staten Island, attended the University of Kentucky, and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from PACE University. She worked at PACE for 37 years in Residential Life, was the staff advisor to many Greek clubs, and was the University’s Title IX Compliance Administrator until her passing.
Debbie brought sunshine and a sense of humor to almost everything and made everyone feel like they were her “honey lamb”. She put her family first and cherished spending time with her grandchildren above all. She always made time for everyone and never hesitated to tell you exactly how she felt. Debbie cared deeply for her family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. She was quick to offer help or a listening ear, not out of obligation but because of who she was. Debbie left behind a legacy of love and service. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Debbie served on the board of Riverview Nursery School since its founding in 1991. She also dedicated time to the Nyack Schools and served on the Upper Nyack Elementary School PTA in the 1990’s, when the whole language curriculum was being revised. She was a member of Living Christ Church and served on the governing board, was a greeter for many years, helped with the annual VBS summer program, and served on the First Impressions Team.
Due to Covid -19 restrictions, memorial services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Debbie’s memory can be made to Riverview Nursery School 150 Piermont Ave. South Nyack, NY 10960.
