Obituary for Carole Newman

Carole Newman 82 of Congers, NY passed away on April 5, 2020 at Nyack Hospital. Carole was born in Hackensack, N.J. on December 22, 1937 to Marie and Robert Firman. In 1956, Carole married her high school sweetheart, Robert Newman. They settled in Congers, NY where they raised their four children. Carole is survived by her husband, Bob, her children Kathy Steinmann (Alwin) Golden Colorado, Laura Ryder (Ted) Upper Nyack, NY, Barbara DeSimone (Patsy) Congers, NY, and Robert Newman (Lisa) New Egypt, NJ. Grandchildren Kevin, Katie, Annie, Michael, Matthew, Chelsea, Teddy, Robert, Amanda, Marc, Bryan and 2 great granddaughters, Ava and Mia Caroline.
Carole and Robert recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. Nani, as she was affectionately called, was happiest when her family members were around her dinner table. She was a woman of courage, who always exemplified the importance of a strong family foundation. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A Memorial Mass celebrating Carole’s life will be held at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack NY on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11 AM.
The family requests that donations are made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
