Obituary for Linda S. Nixon

Linda S. Nixon
Linda Suzanne Gunn-Nixon of Nanuet, New York passed away on January 17, 2021, at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, New York.
She was born in New York City on July 13, 1949, to the late Roy and Ruth Gunn.
Linda was always a joy to be around and often referred to as the life of the party, a lover of music, dancing, and having fun. She made you laugh, loved looking fabulous, shopping, cooking, and feeling beautiful. Family was her number one priority and she was known as a loving mother and doting Nana. She will be dearly missed and leaves us heartbroken.
She is predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Caitlin Gunn who welcomed her Nana to heaven. We are sure they are dancing, laughing, smiling, and delighted to be reunited.
Linda is survived by her devoted daughter, Aleta Eubanks, and son in law, Duane Eubanks, her son Russell Manley and daughter in law, Rhea Manley, three beautiful grandchildren, Leanna Gunn, Preston Eubanks, and Morgan Manley who fondly called her Nana. She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Gunn, Velma Gunn, Sandra Gunn, brother, Derek Gunn, her first cousins, Wanda Comager and Clarence Shelton, Jr., who grew up with her, and her dear friend and companion Daryl Nixon. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4199 Webster Avenue, Bronx, NY at 11 am. Family and friends are welcome to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in the memory of Linda Nixon and Caitlin Gunn to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hudson Valley at wish.org/hudson.
