Obituary for Kathryn M. Meyerson

Kathryn M.  Meyerson
Kathryn Marie Meyerson, 64, of Nyack, New York passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 8, 2022, at her home in Nyack. Kathi was born in Brooklyn on January 31,1958.

A devoted mother, family member and nurse, she will be remembered for her big heart. She spent nearly 20 years as a nurse at Upper Nyack Elementary School and left a lasting impact on students, parents, and the community. Her children’s friends always referred to her as their “second mother” or “Aunt Kathi”. Whether that was sending everyone home with clean laundry or making sure everyone was fed, her loving nature was felt by all. Kathi loved spending time with her family and friends and adored her grandchildren. Her carefree personality and contagious sense of humor leaves her family and friends with incredible memories.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Poidevin, her daughter Rebecca and husband Lenny Messina, her son Benjamin and wife Erin and was married for 38 years to Glenn. She is also survived by her brother Tom and wife Linda, sister Anne and husband Mike Chesterman, sister Lori and husband Tom Grande and sister Beth Murray. Kathi had two grandchildren, Summer and Madison and nine nieces and nephews, Jenny, Joe, Paul, Caroline, Tina, Nicole, Thomas, Matt, and Kyle. She was predeceased by her father Tom, brother Chuck and brother-in-law Kieran Murray.

The family will receive friends at Hannemann Funeral Home, Nyack on Thursday, May 12 from 4PM – 7PM. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel at Marydell Faith & Life Center, Upper Nyack on Friday, May 13 at 10:30AM. An interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice.
