Martha E.  Gilmore
Martha E. Gilmore of Nyack, NY, passed away on March 19,2023 surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Martha was born on January 14,1932 to Ira Frances and Effie Etta (Winnie) Dickson in Greenville, NY. She was educated in Greenville school district and attended classes at Cornell University. After relocating to Rockland County, NY Martha worked for Letchworth Village Development Center over 30yrs before her retirement in 1998.
She enjoyed traveling with her family and her sisters, telling her childhood stories, helping people, and spending time with her family. She was also actively involved in St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Make a Wish Foundation, Tuskegee Airmen and a host of other charities by donating any money
She was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by many lives he touched.
Martha is survived by her children Bruce Gilmore (Nyack), Milton & Deborah Bland (Buffalo), Rhonda Bland (Haverstraw), Gwen Bland (Nyack), Tracy Bland (Spring Valley), Tanya Bland (Philadelphia), 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends.
She is preceded in death by Ira & Effie Dickson (parents), Harry Bland (spouse), Debra Gilmore (daughter), Gregory Bland (son), Winifred Manning, Virginia Mackenzie, Anna Dickson and Donna Dickson (sisters) Henry Dickson, Gerald Dickson and Homer Dickson (brothers)

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to her favorite charities Make a Wish, Tuskegee Airmen or St Jude’s.

The family wishes to thank our family, friends and neighbors for your love, kindness and prayers during this difficult time. Special thanks to medical professionals for all the time they spent with mom even though it was short, and the care they gave during the heartbreaking final moments of Mom’s amazing life.
