Obituary for Robert C. Greenwood
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Greenwood. He passed Friday morning at the young age of 79, and will be greatly missed by many. Robert, a first generation American, was born in the Bronx and grew up throughout New York City. After meeting the love of his life, they moved to Queens, NY to start a family. Only a few years later, they relocated to Rockland County, where they would continue to live out the remainder of their lives together, along with their daughter (and the familys' many pets), all the while fostering his love of cars into a lifelong career. Bowling was a great love of his, and he very much enjoyed everything it brought with it, including all of the friends he would otherwise not have met and all of the friendly competitions he was honored to be a part of. When he wasn't bowling, you could find him enjoying a Yankees or Knicks game. Bob, or Bobby, as his close friends would call him, was always in high spirits. He was known for his enthusiasm, his jokes, his sense of friendship, and his incredible ability to forgive, and he was always willing to go the extra mile for any friend in need. Robert was predeceased by his parents and wife of 38 years, but is survived by his brother Albert, daughter Kim, niece Eve, and nephew Adam. There will be a graveside service at the Beth Am Temple Cemetery, (73 Van Wyck Rd. Blauvelt, NY 10913) on Tuesday 7/25/23 at 10:30am, and then a brief reception at the Temple, (60 E Madison Ave, Pearl River, NY 10965), for anyone wishing to attend.
