Stop the world, at the age of 92, Robert D. Goldberg was ready to get off. On January 15, 2024 Bob left the great loves of his life, his wife of 64 years, Doris; his children, Lisa, Eric, Deborah and David, their spouses and his beloved grandchildren, Evan, Arielle, Alexander (Mo), Maximillian and Levon. Erin, his first grandchild predeceased him. Bob was born to Herman and Ruth Goldberg on November 10, 1931 in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, NY. After his family, Bob’s great loves were photography and nature. He combined the two by photographing the many places he visited throughout the U.S. and Europe. Bob was deeply committed to his local community. He was a Boy Scout troop leader, an ombudsman at the Summit Park Sanatorium, a member of the Nyack Historical Society and the Friends of the Nyacks where he led walking and armchair tours. Bob was a tour guide at Kykuit in Sleepy Hollow for over a decade. He was also involved with local political and educational matters. A proud Brooklyn College grad. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bob had a long professional career as a chemical engineer with Technicon, Perkin Elmer, and Union Carbide. After retiring, he embarked on a second career in finance with All America, located in Westchester. He lived a full life and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
