Obituary for Arlene Laub Dickinson

Arlene had three loves in her life.
At first, as a child, she loved horses. With her horse, Junior, she was an accomplished, fearless rider, and competed actively in many shows where she collected her share of ribbons.
Her second love was dance. She was an early member of the Alwin Nicholai Dance Company with whom she performed for many years, in Canada, Europe and throughout the United States. She later continued her career, teaching dance as a Professor at Bard College in Upstate New York where her composition classes stimulated and delighted her students. Her students loved her, in return.

Her last love was for her husband. She spent the last half of her life with him. She
supported, guided, and loved him with a wisdom and compassion that enriched both their lives.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 2, 1934 to Benjamin and Grace (nee Handler) Laub, and died, at home, in Piermont, New York after a long illness. She is survived by her husband, Taylor Dickinson, her sister, Madelon Jones and her brother-in-law, Christopher (Kit) Jones.
She is deeply loved and will be missed.
