Obituary for Barbara Ann Miller

Barbara Ann  Miller
Barbara (Bobbie) Ann Miller passed away peacefully on Friday, April 12th surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Nyack, NY on December 25th, 1937 to Thelma (Wanamaker) and William Shaw. She grew up in Upper Nyack and West Nyack. Barbara attended West Nyack Elementary (presently the West Nyack Library), graduated with the first class of Clarkstown Central High School in 1955 where she was part of the cheerleading squad, secretarial club and the SAGA staff.

In Bobbie’s early years, she met George Miller. The two were inseparable from their elementary years and were true childhood sweethearts. George and Bobbie were wed on September 11th, 1955. They shared a beautiful marriage of 55 years and had 3 children; Brian (Beth) Miller, Greg Miller, Pamela (Thomas) O’Grady and fr. daughter in law, Michele. She lovingly doted over her grandchildren; Ariana (Chris), Danielle (Philip), TJ (Shannon), Katie (Chase), Jackie, Chris (Amanda), Kyle (Kasey) and great-grandchildren; Cejay, Jason, Ansley, Chandler, Nora, Jack, Liam, Brooke and Ryan. She is predeceased by the love of her life, George. Bobbie’s life is lovingly celebrated by her close relatives, the Wanamaker family.

Barbara spent a special time in her life dedicated as a docent on Constitution Island in West Point, NY. Bobbie and George often traveled back and forth to Florida as snow birds in the later part of their lives. Her love of traveling carried throughout her lifetime. She loved to explore and see many parts of the world. She will be remembered for her wit, charm and charitable nature, especially for animals. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
