Richard K.  Geiger
Richard K. Geiger, a long time resident of Suffern, NY passed away Saturday March 11th after a brief illness. He was 75 years old. Richard was the son of the late Howard Wilton Geiger and Mabel Houlden Geiger of Monsey, NY. He was born in Nyack, NY in 1941. He worked in his family lumber business, Geiger Lumber, for 45 years until he retired. Richard was a 1960 graduate of Spring Valley High School where he lettered in soccer, basketball and baseball. He was a Junior College All-American soccer goalie for Rockland Community College and was inducted into the R.C.C Hall of Fame in 2009. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jean, his son Richard Jr. and wife Cate of Springfield VA, his daughter Kimberly and her husband Steve of Suffern, NY, grandson Kyle, brother Charles and wife Dee of Germantown, NY and 9 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Howard, wife Melissa, and their son Skip Geiger. After his retirement he enjoyed playing golf and bridge and rooting for the NY Giants. There will be a mass of Christian burial at St. Ann’s Church on April 22nd at 16 Jefferson St in Nyack, NY at 11:00am. A celebration of Richie’s life will be held at the Nyack Field Club immediately following for all friends and family at 335 N.Midland Ave in Nyack NY.
