Obituary for Joseph "Joe" Moger
Joseph Moger was born 9/9/44 in Backa Polanka , Yugoslavia. He immigrated to the US in 1970 and settled in Nyack, NY with his wife Elizabeth.
He lived the American Dream of becoming a business owner opening Moger’s Auto Repair in Nyack, NY in 1973 until present. Kindly dubbed as “ The Expert Volkswagen Mechanic”, “Moger” is best known for his love of VW’s and soccer. While walking home from Moger’s one night he was discovered to be an excellent soccer player by the Spring Valley-Haiti soccer club of which he then later became one of the original members of the Clarkstown Sports Club. Always young at heart, he played soccer well into his 70’S.
He loved his family, soccer buddies, many friends, Village of Nyack , and work of which he never took a day off, until he passed on 6/16/23.
Survived by his devoted wife of 53 years Elizabeth, 3 children (Robert Moger & wife Barbara, Nadia & husband Jon Kaplan and Elizabeth & husband Shawn Graber.) He will be missed by his 3 grandchildren Peter & Andrew Moger and Elaina Kaplan.
As he would always say.. “It’s not goodbye.. it’s I’ll see you later”.
